Biotic and abiotic factors (natural enemies, temperature, rainfall and Relative Humidity) affect Thrips palmi population. However, abiotic factors are in consistent while the natural enemy, O. tantillus caused a reduction in thrips population. Thrips palmi distributions vary with leaf location and according to sowing period. In the first sowing period, thrips population was evenly distributed on all the leaves within the plant. However during the second sowing period, the middle leaf harbored the highest number of thrips (19.58 thrips/leaf) that were significantly higher than those leaves that were taken from both the basal and the top portions with 8.90 and 12.28 thrips/leaf, respectively. The same trend in thrips density was observed during the third sowing.
