Nitrate accumulation in silage maize in the conditions of automorphic and hydromorphic water regimes
2000
Pechova, B.
Nitrate accumulation in crop during vegetation was dependent from nitrate N in soil at various moisture conditions. In the site at Samorin with automorphous water regime and lower humus content in topsoil nitrate accumulation in crop was lower, than at Gabcikovo with hydromorphous water regime and higher humus in topsoil (in both treatments). Also N-fertilization efficiency and nitrate offer in soil was higher at Gabcikovo. Highest nitrate accumulation was in June, in conditions of maximum nitrification process intensity in soil. In young crop cover were nitrate contents increased, particularly in the treatment with N-fertilization, at Samorin under 18 g NO3-/kg, at Gabcikovo to 39 g NO3-/kg (in dry mass). In case of automorphous water regime in location Samorin, was in conditions of 1997 minimum nitrate cumulation in ensilage maize in time of whole vegetation period. Irrespective of year impact in both locations and treatments without and with N-fertilization (150 kg N/ha) was the crop quality sufficient at harvest maturity. In this time nitrate level in soil was lower
