We studied the milk production in 104 sheep of Tsigai (T) and 78 Improved Valachian (IV) breeds within the control of milk efficiency. We evaluated the production of greasy wool and live weight as well. Milk production in T was 94.2 l and in IV 82.6 l for the milking period. The average daily milk production in T breed was 711.3 ml, in IV 617.8 ml. Milk production for the standardised milking period in T breed was 110.2 l and in IV 95.5 l. Daily production per kg metabolizable weight of ewes (MWE) in T breed was 32.56 ml, in IV 30.24 ml. Live weight in T sheep was 61.4 kg and in IV sheep 56.4 kg; production of greasy wool in T represented 3.7 kg and in IV 4.2 kg. We found no statistically significant dependencies between the studied parameters, values of correlation coefficients were low: between milk production and live weight 0.015 to 0.112; between milk production per kg MWE and weight -0.171 to -0.259; between production of milk and greasy wool -0.086 to 0.007, and between wool production and milk production per kg MWE -0.174 to -0.082
