The work analyses structural and process changes in the agricultural and food complex of Slovakia. The adverse effect of divisinionalization, transformation and restoration of agricultural bussiness entities on this complex and its sectors are documented. The main attention is paid to the activation of economic growth resources during the EU pre-accession period and to arrangements how to improve productive power and competitinevess of agricultural antities to the European market structures
