The study of relationships between soil acidity and pH level of precipitation water in selected mountain forest habitats of Krkonose National Park (Czech Republic) is presented. The study was based on comprehensive statistical treatment of laboratory analyses of forest soils obtained from 28 study plots. A prominent decrease in acidity of precipitation water found in 1994-1999 on all stations evaluated can be recognized as a very important factor. There were studied pH of precipitation water and pH of soil units, pH of precipitation water and soils on chemically different parent rocks, pH of precipitation water and soils on different forest site units under different tree composition and pH of precipitation water and soils at different altitudes
