In vitro propagation of Phyllanthus emblica Linn.

Experimental were conducted to develop a propagation for Phyllanthus emblica Linn. Actively growing shoots were cut from 20-30 days seedings old and shoot were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS, 1962) media supplemented with BA or Kinetin concentrations 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mg/l for shoot multiplication. The optimum shoot proliferation was achieved on the MS media with supplemented 4 mg/l 6-benzylaminopurine (BA). For root induction, shoots were cultured on MS media supplemented with IBA or NAA concentrations range from 0 to 10 mg/l or MS media with reduced both of ammonium nitrate and potassium nitrate to 0, 50 and 100 percent from the normal concentrations, 1,650 and 1,900 mg/l, respectively. The maximum of root percentage and number of roots on MS media without ammonium nitrate and potassium nitrate (reduced 100 percent) is 65 percent and 2.8 roots after 60 days.
