Genetic background to breed commercial duck variety CV super-m is from a drake line with heavy body weight and a duck line with high reproductivity. Result from selection over four generations, two lines with high quality, improved growth and reproductive parameters were isolated. Crosses between these drakes and ducks resulted in hybrids with body weight of 8.234 kg/duck at 74 day old.
