Effect of some filtering materials on heavy metals content in wine

Influence of wine filtration through kieselguhr filter and sheet filter on kieselguhr contents of copper, lead, cadmium, zinc and iron in filtered wine was investigated. Results indicated that filtration materials influenced the amount of heavy metals in the filtered wines. Contents of copper, zinc, iron and cadmium decreased during filtration. Lead content decreased also in the wine filtered through sheet filters but remained practically the same when filtration was done through kieselguhr filter.
