Justification of a method for selection of transportation vehicles for gathering grain crops depending on grain hopper capacity of the harvester and haulage distance

Grain transportation costs from the field to sites, dryers and stores significantly influence production costs. That is why it is important to select transportation vehicles most suited in terms of capacity as well as the optimal number to service the harvesters. This work justifies a method for fast and easy selection of vehicles. Based on this method, it is possible to establish promptly the number and type of the necessary vehcles in each specific farm to collect the crops depending on the haulage distance.
