The computer database application MS Access 97 for the evaluation of new herbicides in integrated methods of fibre flax protection
2002
Heller, K. (Institute of Natural Fibres, Poznan (Poland))
The results of 301 exteriments (1967-2001) on biological evaluation of herbicides in flax cultivation showed a strong correlation between environmental conditions and the efficacy of weed controlling measures. Herbicide efficacy was influenced by the level of agronomy (e.g. the level of field infestation) as well as objective environmental factors (type and class of soil, weather during flax vegetation). It was observed that the worse the conditions for flax growth and development were, the more necessary it became to use chemicals in weed control. Therefere, the herbicide doses can be reduced on condition that the level of agronomy is imporoved
