[Character of Colorado potato beetle in potato plantings of the Republic of Belarus]

Colonization of potato plantings by Colorado beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say) in the Republic of Belarus remains to be at the high level. The pest spread is of an expansive character ("mass attacks"). The data analysis done by us in 2000-2001 in regional points of signalization and forecast proved the influence of diverse climatic conditions on spread character and the pest density. So, in the southern regions of the Republic a significant increase of phytophage number and harmfulness relative to the Central and Northern zone is observed. So, the created situation on the character of spread, the dynamics of colonization and Colorado potato density in potato agrocoenosises creates the necessity of development the economic thresholds of phytophage harmfulness in zonal aspect for them to be included in the system of integrated potato protection
