The article describes a case of defficiency of both growth hormone and thyrotrophic in 2,5 years old German Shepherd. Clinical examination and blood analysis enabled to establish the right diagnosis. The diagnosis was confirmed by measuring the concentration of somatomaedin C (IGF-1). The animal was treated by medroxyprogesterone acetate administered once every three weeks and with L-thyroxine administered every day. Three months later the first signs of the hair growth were obvious and hair exchange was completed after five months. During the therapy which lasted 7 months IGF-1 and insulin concentrations, blood biochemistry parameters and hormonal profile began to stabilize.
