The effect of storage on beta-carotene concentrations in silages made from inoculated wilted lucerne was evaluated. The decrease of beta-carotene concentrations depended on the time of storage and on the degree of lucerne wilting. Beta-carotene losses during the storage were very pronounced at the beginning of storage and decreased with storage time. They were more pronounced in silages made from lucerne wilted for 4 days than in those made from lucerne wilted only for 2 days.
