This review article focuses mainly on perch fry feeding and nutrition. The effects of feeding live food (mainly Artemia salina nauplii) and starter feeds are presented and compared. Apart from nutrient requirements and requirements for bite size, a relatively low demand of perch larvae for the concentraion of n-3 higly unsaturated fatty acids in feed is discussed. Causes of larval mortality and cannibalism are reviewed and the occurrence of fry with unsufficient function of gas bladder is discussed. The main bacterioses and parasitoses affecting perch fry are also summarized.
