The field study was carried out in OUe Jampo (2001, May - October) to evaluate the effect of vaccination with vaccine RespiSure against swine enzootic pneumonia. Thes farm is adopting a continuos system of production. results of slaughter examination of lung lesions were 29,9 per cent. 94 per cent from slaughtered pigs had gross lesions of enzootic pneumonia, although all piglets and pregnent sows were vaccinated against Pasteurella multocida. Two of the methods, serologic testing by ELISA and slaughter evaluation of lung lesion by Goodwin and Whittlestone, were used to monitor herd health status. Lung lesions were recorded from all (32) pigs. Pneumonia scores were calculated base on the percentage of affected lung tissue in each lobe. Using ELISA, maternal antibodies were detected in 92 per cent from piglets in one week of age. 14 days after first vaccination 100 per cent of piglets were seroconversed, however maternal antibodies were persisted. On average the vaccinated pigs (56 per cent), 80 days old became seronegative by ELISA. This study suggested that mucosal antibodies and cell-mediated immune response were importante for control of mycoplasmal pneumonia in pigs. RespiSure vaccinated pigs had percentages of the reduction in lung lesions
