Influence of agrotechniques on the structure of weed communities

Changes in the similarities and diversities of the weed communities of winter wheat crops were studied on large and small farms. The research was done on fields in two villages in April and June 2000. The percentage weed cover was estimated on ten 4x4 m areas from each of 10 large fields (10-150 ha) and 10 small fields (1-10 ha) which had not been treated with herbicides. The soil of the plots and the varieties cultivated were much the same. As the influence of the villages was not significant for either the number of species or the weed cover, the data of the two villages were combined.
