The evaluation on provenances trial of Eboni (Diospyros celebica Bakh.) in Malili Research Station, South Sulawesi [Indonesia]

Provenances trial of eboni species was carried out in Malili Research Station (South Sulawesi Province) to assess the suitability of the provenance of eboni at six and twelve months old. A Randomized Completely Block design using 120 tree plot with 3 blocks as replication and 7 provenance as treatment was used. Plant were spaced at 3x3 m. The site of study has altitude of about 100 m above sea level. Its soil characterized as Rhodik Hapludoxs and at climate type A according to Schmidt and Ferguson classification with annual rainfall 2.400 mm. The result showed that treatment had a highly significant on height and diameter growth. The highest rate of survival percentage (93.6 percent and 89.5 percent), height growth (13.27 cm and 16.13 cm) and diameter growth (13.27 mm and 16.13 mm) was presented by provenance Kaluku at six and twelve months
