We isolated and purified the fluorescent-dye protein phycocyanin from spirulina being industrially porduced in our country and carried out the work for using it as a fluorescent-probe material. The optimum conditions for extraction of phycocyanin from spirulina and the method for its isolation and purification of phycocyanin by liquid chromatography were obtained. The obsorbance ratio(OD622/OD280) of the purified phycocyanin was 7.2 and the total yield after processing as 3.5 percent. The obsorbance ratio(OD650/OD280) of allo-phycocyanin seperated from hydroxyapatide was 3.23 and the content in the purified phycobiliprotein was 17.5
