[Investigation of seed-metering device for precision planting of acorns]

Statistical data of seeds dimensions dispersion and dependences of some indicators of seed-metering device performance (frequences of empty cells and multiple cell-fills: by twos, by threes or more seeds in one cell) upon speed of cell wheel rotation, composition of acorn samples by size and thickness of seed layer in the picking chamber are presented in this article. Acording to available data the tested seed-metering device demonstrates satisfactory performance at the speed of cells corresponding to moving speed of corn planter up to 2.0 km/h: per cent of zero cell - fills, doubles and triplets do not exceed respectively: 2, 11 and 0. Frequency of omissions, doubles and triplets decreases when working speed of seed-metering device is increasing. Data of investigation related to dimensions of feeding orfice, thickness of seed layer in the picking chamber and composition of acorn sample from the standpoint of seed size are obtained as well
