The effect of anaesthetic agents ketamine hydrochloride and diazepam on the main functional parameters of an isolated frog's heart was experimentally studied. Research studies showed that ketamine hydrochloride caused a negative chronotropic effect on the heart as well as disturbances of the heartbeat rhythm in 33.4% of cases. Diazepam prevents disturbances of the heartbeat rhythm caused by ketamine. Ketamine hydrochloride together with diazepam removes disturbances of the heart rhythmicity caused by premedication, causes a little positive heart chronotropic effect, however it does not fully prevent bradicardia caused by premedication.
