Rajput, B.
The present studies on the evaluation of different insecticides for controlling African bollworm, (Helicoverpa armigera Hbn.) on cotton were carried out in the field of Goth Abdul Sattar, near Nasarpur (Sindh). Cotton variety NIAB-78 was sown during 3rd week of May, 1998 in a completely randomized block design with four replications. Each. replicate comprised of five sub-plots and each sub-plot of 10 x 10 m. Two Organo-phosphorus (Reldan and Lorsban), one carbonate (Larvin) and one naturalyte product (Tracer) were sprayed twice fortnightly. The reduction percentage in the population of African bollworm, was computed by recording the observation on the population after 24 hours, 4 days, 7 days, and 15 days of each spray. Results showed that naturalyte product (Tracer) were more effective followed by Lorsban, Reldan and Larvin.
