Economic analysis of wheat cultivation in district Hyderabad [Pakistan]

The present study on economic analysis of wheat production in district Hyderabad was conducted at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam during 1998-99. A wheat grower, operating an average area of 6.62 hectares, obtained an average return of Rs. 22606.86. Total cost of production was 13986.17 and he obtained a net income of Rs. 8620.69/ha. The specific results of the study showed that input-output ratio was 1:1.63 and cost benefit ratio is 1:0.63. It was recommended that pure seed of high yielding varieties, provision of fertilizer and other inputs at farmers doorsteps and marketing facilities may ensure the higher production.
