Green fodder yield of maize as affected by harvesting days under agro climatic conditions of Tandojam [Pakistan]

The experiment was conducted at Student' s Farm Department of Agronomy, Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam during 1998 to study the green fodder yield of Maize as affected by harvesting days under agro climatic conditions of Tandojam. Plant height, highly significant differs for harvesting days and maximum plant height per plant was obtained when crop was harvested at 90-days. Thickness of stem (cm) showed highly significant for harvesting days and maximum thickness of was obtained when crop was harvested at 45-days. Plant population, highly significant differs for harvesting days, however, maximum plant population was obtained when crop was harvested at 90-days. The results for number of green leaves per plant showed highly significant for harvesting days. Maximum number of green leaves per plant was recorded when crop was harvested at 45-days. The weight of single plant (g) differs highly significant for harvesting days and maximum green fodder yield per plant was obtained from when crop was harvesting at 60-days. The green fodder yield of maize differences highly significant for harvesting days and maximum green fodder yield of maize per plot was obtained when crop harvested at 45-days. It is conducted that maximum green fodder yield 29839 kg per hectare was recorded when maize crop was harvested at 45-days under agro-climatic conditions of Tandojam.
