Haematozoan parasite bring about many serious diseases in the domestic animals which effect the survival rate in the natural life. Disturbance in the function of the haemopoietic system of the host occurs due to infection with these haemoflagellates. Keeping in view the importance of these blood parasites, a total of 500 blood smears were made from Ungulates from different areas of NWFP, Pakistan during 1979-1980. These blood smears were collected from 366 cattle, 25 sheep, 61 goats, 27 horses, 2 mules and 10 donkeys. Among them, a new species of Trypanosoma T. diriensis was described from blood of goats from Dir, NWFP, Pakistan with an incidence of 9.86 %. Though closely resembling T. theileri, it differs in morphometic studies and other characters.
