Management of sugar beet without manure

In the paper the results of experiments with application of farmyard manure, straw, plouhed-in crop residues in comparison to mineral fertilizers for sugarbeet are presented. The experiments were carried on during 1991-94 on loess soil of high fertility. The all compared fertilization systems, except straw without nitrogen, proved to be equal with respect to roots, leaves and raw sugar yields.
