Green areas in Olsztyn - the history and the present time

The paper refers to the problem of development and forming the green areas (from the 19 th. century) in Olsztyn. In the period between the two wars Olsztyn was called "the green town". Nowdays one can also admire the beautiful landscapes, which are connected with the situation of the site and the fact that the town is situated on the river Lyna in the immediate neighbourhood of the lakes and forests. The next part of the paper describes the present state of municipal parks and lawns and designing the green areas in the future
