Usefulness of three extraction solvents for the determination of nitrates content in vegetables

The contents of nitrates in vegetables were determined by the potentiometric method after extraction with use of 2 percent CH3COOH, 0.04 M CuSO4 or 0.02 M Al2(SO4)3, and by the colorimetric method. The type of the applied extraction solvent had an effect on the resulting determinations. A significant correlation was found between the results of both applied methods
