Yield of grown sweet pepper depending on cultivars and growing conditions

Evaluation of new Polish cultivars of sweet pepper compared with Iga, using low tunnels with perforated PE foil, nonwoven PP, and control treatment, were made during the period 1999-2001. The plants were grown on plots mulched with black PE foil, covers being used during the first four weeks after field setting. New F1 cvs. gave a significantly higher marketable yield in comparison with standard. Also dry matter and soluble solids content was higher in fruits F1 hybrids. Vitamin C content was relatively high with regard to the cvs. and growing method used
