Two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2-D PAGE) was conducted on etiolated seedlings and mature pollen grains proteins from two Festulolium cultivars - Felopa and Sulino and its parental species: Festuca pratensis Huds. cv. Westa and Lolium multiflorum Lam. cv. Mitos. In each case 2-D PAGE proteomic pictures of soluble proteins showed several hundred of polypeptide spots. Generally, less number of spots were found in seedlings of Festulolium cultivars than in the cultivars of parental species. Specific sets of proteins can be useful as the molecular markers. Mature pollen grains proved to be a convenient material for determination of protein polymorphism
