The study was done in 6 apple orchards. The main purpose was to estimate the guide values for nutrients in orchard soils using the universal method for soil analyses. In this method macroelements and B, Na and Cl were extracted with the 0.03 M CH3COOH but Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu with the Lindsay solution. It was found that the universal method applied for the orchard soil analyses gives the wider possibilities for determination of soil fertility. This method allows to determine the active forms of nutrients. The soil samples collected from the herbicide strips and analysed with the procedure universal method had a higher content of Ca, Mg, S-SO4, Mn, Zn and Cu. It was shown also the higher levels of pH and EC. In the opposition, the soil in the grass strips was more reach in K, Cl, Fe and B. It was found differentiation for ammonium, nitrates and phosphorus for both strips
