In 2000-01 studies were carried out to compare the suitability of different growing media to be used in pot experimentations with New Guinea Impatiens cv. Timor. In the 16 week of experiment the phytometric parameters such as plant height, number of shoots and number of flowers measured at succeeding time limits were estimated. The applied growing media affected the examined parameters. The height of impatients plant depended on the medium abundance, too high slightly weakened the growth of them. The best substrates in New Guinea Impatients growing seemed to be Geranierde and the least suitable seemed to be Universalerde
