The observations on calves show that there are age-dependent changes in IGF-I and glucose (but not in thyroid hormones (T3, T4), trigliceride, ketone bodies, calcium, phosphorus and sodium) concentrations; IFG-I and glucose, in contrast to other substances, may be indicators and regulators of individual bovine growth rate
