Grassland and development of the farms specialized in dairy cattle production

Ten farms specialized in dairy production were described. During 5 years the farmers enlarged their land acreage by 50-90 percent achieving 20.0 to 35.7 ha, on an average. A part of pastures was set in the fields near the farm and stead buildings. Therefore, the cattle population increased up to 20-35 heads under such conditions. Fodder area on farms exceed 50 percent of grassland area and the share of pastures and meadows reached 80 percent. Described specialistic farms present the development of natural process the restructurization of the agriculture. There exists a need for continuation of the research upon the quality of roughage fodders produced on the farms
