Differences in the social and economic potential of rural areas

The studies on the social and economic potential of rural areas were conducted employing a model method. Their aim was to present differences in this potential between selected administrative districts located in three provinces: The Wielkopolska, Malopolska and Warmia and Mazury Province. The research results show that the disproportion between particular administrative districts within provinces is higher than statistical inter-regional differences. This fact is of great theoretical significance and should be taken into account while establishing regional and local policy in rural areas
