Analysis of factors that influence slaughter pig prices

The paper presents results of preliminary research in 7 slaughterhouses established after 1989. The paper analyses the system of additional charges dependent on factors associated with pig sale. The number and value of extra charges was estimated per 1 kg of pig weight and as a percentage of the basic price. The value of extra charges depended mainly on pig meatiness. Results of the analysis revealed the growing importance of extra charges for meatiness and membership in producer groups, and the falling importance of extra charges for lower fatness
