Effect of nitrogen fertilization on antioxidative systems in leaves and stems of kohlrabi Korist F1

The effect of nitrogen fertilization on fresh weight, dry weight and antioxidative system was investigated. Analyses were performed in leaves and stems of kohlrabi Korist F1. In the plants the highest content of ascorbate was obtained at the level 200 mg N/cubic dm and glutathione at 100 mg N/cubic dm. Activity of ascorbate peroxidase in total extract from plant increased with the growth of N level. The fertilization had not effect on glutathione reductase activity. The antioxidant potential in kohlrabi leaves was significantly higher than in stems
