The secondary effect of green manure in the form of forecrop plants (oat, field pea, vetch and mixture of these plants) on the yield of onion and the content of dry matter, monosaccharides, total sugars and vitamin C was examined. Two forms of forecrop usage were applied, namely the whole biomass and harvest residue. The fertilizing effect of forecrops was compared to the dose of 25 t/ha of farmyard manure and the cultivation without it. Onion was cultivated in the second year after organic fertilization. Forecrop green manure positively affected onion yielding
