The objective of the work was the comparison of the effect of three methods of vegetable material mineralization (wet, dry and microwave) on the results of cadmium content determination. Subject of studies was also the recovery of the cadmium (0.1; 0.4 mg Cd/kg) which was added to blank test and the vegetable material. The highest content of cadmium was found after wet mineralization. Significantly lower results were obtained after dry mineralization. It was probably caused by the escaping of cadmium in the furnace. Still lower results were obtained after microwave mineralization (open system)
