The women eating the oat-enriched diet for 6 weeks were found to have reduced their triacylglycerol, total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol. Their HDL-cholesterol, glucose and fibrynogen contents were observed to increase. None of changes, howevwer, was statistically significant. On the other hand, the men showed a statistically significant reduction in triacyl content and a significant increase in HDL-cholesterol. They also increased their glucose, LDL-cholesterol and fibrynogen contents; however, in none of these cases was the increase significant
