Effect of growth regulators on the in vitro propagation of Coccoloba unifera L. in vitro

This study was aimed to test the possibility of in vitro propagation of Coccoloba uvifera. Shoot cultures of C. uvifera were established from axillary buds on MS medium supplemented with BAP (0.1 mg/l) and IBA (0.25 mg/l). The best shoot multiplication occurred in the presence of 2 mg/l BAP. Kinetin and 2iP added to the medium singly or in combination with auxins (IBA, IAA) had no effect on shoot multiplication. The shoots were induced to root on MS medium without growth regulators or supplemented with auxins (IBA, IAA) and subsequently transferred to the soil
