Efficacy of two methods of meadow sward restoration

The restoration of grassland sward is aimed mostly at improving its production and quality of obtained fodder. There are two methods to recover species composition in deteriorated sward - preservation by means of reasonable management and fertilization or with the aid of undersowing seeds of valuable grasses and legumes into existing sward. Both mineral fertilization and undersowing appeared to improve production of meadow. Limited nitrogen fertilization together with undersowing has resulted in its 20 percent rise
