Effect of priming combined with Rovral 50 WP treatment on China aster seed germination and infestation by fungi

Two seed samples of China aster were primed in polyethylene glycol (PEG 8000) at osmotic potential -1.25 MPa for 7 days in darkness at 15 deg C. PEG priming was also combined with Rovral 50 WP treatment. In combined treatments the fungicide was applied before, during and after PEG priming. Germination and mycological tests were performed at 10, 20 and 30 deg C. Priming seeds in PEG alone and combined with fungicide significantly increased speed of germination capacity, especially at 10 deg C. Priming combined with fungicide treatment decreased the percentage of seeds infested with fungi as compared to priming in PEG solution alone
