Incidence of Verticillium-wilt in the hop in relation to green manure fertilization of soil were studied at the Jastkow Experimental Station with hop cv. Lubelski. Amendment of soil with white mustard and especially with rye as green manure limitd the infestation of plant by Verticillium albo-atrum (Vaa) in the hop plantation. Incorporation of rye and white mustard into soil increased the number of antagonistic Bacillus and Pseudomonas strains against Vaa, in relation to the NPK fertilization. Whereas among all fertilization treatment examined, the cyanogenic Pseudomonas strains occurred at the lowest numbers in soils amended with white mustard
