The aim of the research was to examine the effects of controlled supplementation of vitamin B to the diet on the content of protein in serum and muscles, the activity of liver enzymes and the body weight gain of rats. The rats were fed the diet in which wheat grains and partly corn had been substituted with wheat flour and sucrose. In males it turned out to simulate the rate of protein metabolism, whereas in females brought about the accumulation of protein in the body tissues
