2003
Matoskova, D. (Vyskumny Ustav Ekonomiky Polnohospodarstva a Potravinarstva, Bratislava (Slovak Republic))
The contribution assessed the position of Slovak agro-food commmodities in CEFTA markets, in terms of production volume, intensity parameters, prices of agricultural products, agro-food trade and overall support in the period from 1998 to 2001. In terms of RCA index and trade balance deficit, Slovakia can not compete in agricultural product trade with the Czech Republic and Hungary. However, compared to the other CEFTA countries, the situation is opposite. Slovakia has recorded competitive intensity parameters and prices, in particular, in legumes and oilseeds. In terms of EPS indicator, milk, pig meat, poultry and sugar are the most supported commodities in Slovakia, while eggs and beef are the least supported
