This study should provide basic information on potential of Amaranthus weeds biological control with insects in Slovakia. The main objectives were: collect information about insect associated with the genus Amaranthus in the world, conduct field surveys to collect information on occurence and abundance of phytophagous insects associated with target species in Slovakia, among insects associated with target weed select those which have potential to become effective biological control agents, determine life history of selected species
