Performance and financial position of agricultural enterprise [in slovak Republic]

The current increased performance of Slovak agriculture has been largerly a result of the insufficient capital. The process of transition failed to materialise in the influx of new capital, and also failed to address the large dissipation of ownership of the enterprises assets. The discrepancies in the development of input and output prices represent an obstruction to practical intensification and prices of agricultural commodities often fail to coverv even the costs incurred. As the sector of agriculture prepares for integration into EU, the key task of agrarian entreprenuers is to increase the performance of their bussinesses in order to be able to complete in the fiture European market. In addition to the production management, the high performance of enterprises also requires careful fimancial management. The objective of this article is to assess the current financial position of our agrarian enterprises, being the prerequisite for qrowth in their performance
