Effect of organic manure on yield and yield components of the genus Amaranthus L.

The effect of genotype and organic manure on yield and yield components of the genus Amaranthus L. was studied during the 1994-1996 period. A field trials was carried out at the Agricultural School in Futog, Serbia (Yugoslavia). At the leaf technological maturity, the highest plant mass, leaf mass and number of leaves was found in Amaranthus cruentus (a). Manuring brought about an high significant increase in yield in all genotypes. The high yield, without NPK manure get perspective Amaranthus sp. as vegetable crop in the Vojvodina Province (Serbia, Yugoslavia).
