Content of proteins and minerals in raw milk of Simmental cows

The aim of this study was to determine the content of proteins, calcium, phosphorus, copper, iron and zinc in cow milk, with different order of lactation and detect possible relation between proteins and minerals content and also the influence of the cow lactation order on the milk ingredients concentration, stated above. The results of this investigation have shown that average values of proteins, calcium, phosphorus, copper, iron and zinc are in agreement with literature data. There is a positive correlation between proteins and phosphorus content, but not with other minerals. Coefficients of correlations are: rsub(1)=0.75; rsub(2)=0.97; rsub(3)=0.73 for cows of the 1st, 3rd and 5th lactation respectively. Also the order of cows lactation did not significantly influence the concentration of investigated milk ingredients. Milk samples were taken from 3 cows Simmental breed by hand milking. All cows were captive under the same conditions of feed. Atomic Spectrophotometry was used for determination of copper, zinc, iron and calcium. Phosphorus was determinated by classical spectrophotometric method at 650 nm of wave-length, and proteins by Kjeldahl method.
