Study on the possibilities for computerizing of selection on the basic quantitative selection traits of silkworm Bombix mori L.

Studies were carried out in relation to possibilities for computerization of selection on the basic quantitative traits: cocoon weight, cocoon shell weight and cocoon-shell ratio of Bombyx mori L. It was found that the developed computer programme for parallel independent individual selection of the best individuals on the basic selection quantitative traits: cocoon weight, cocoon shell weight and cocoon-shell ratio of Bombix mori L. led to increase of the efficiency and create the necessary prepositions for switching from an empiric to a theoretically better conditioned, formalized and intensive selection.
